It’s a welcome surprise, considering Sam had just checked in with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) earlier that evening, and she hadn’t heard anything new about Drew.

Naturally, Drew headed to Kelly’s first in search of Carly after she had just closed for her large Halloween party for families with children.
She informed him what Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had done, and he was shocked by what she saw. He had no idea why he had been let out of Pentonville.
After spending time with Carly, he’ll go thank her, but first he has to go to Sam and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) house to see Scout.
After learning from Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) that Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) had vanished and that Jake Webber (Hudson West) had gone in search of her, Sam and Dante had just experienced a harrowing experience. When Drew gets there, Scout is sound asleep in bed, and Dante has gone to look into the situation.

After learning that Scout had kept all of her chocolate Halloween sweets for him earlier, Drew and Scout share a chocolate snack. Sam doesn’t keep him informed on Charlotte’s situation, but when she and Dante discovered that she was interested in Tarot cards, it made them both pause.
Drew and Scout spend the day together as they celebrate Drew’s early release from Pentonville and rekindle their family bond.
Even though Drew was in isolation, Sam had been just as concerned as Carly about him having been battered to within an inch of his life and going back to Pentonville.
For so many years, they assumed he was gone, and Sam would never have gone back to Port Charles if he hadn’t had faith in him during that phone call.

Scout even goes with Drew when he visits “The Invader” to congratulate Alexis for what she accomplished using the media’s influence.
Judge Albert Kim (Kurt Yue) was obliged to commute Drew’s sentence because of fear that his lavish travels and bribery would be discovered.
Drew may file an appeal to have the entire episode removed from the public record and to be declared innocent, but Alexis claimed that this would be made more difficult by the fact that he accepted a plea deal.
Drew is just relieved to be out of Pentonville, where he shouldn’t have been sent in the first place, and doesn’t even care that he has a brief prison history for insider trading. He had realized it would have been a prison for white-collar workers!
