The first synopses have been revealed for Home and Away’s Australian return week, promising plenty of drama as Felicity and Eden speed towards disaster, and a new arrival takes one Summer Bay resident by surprise.

The final moments of the 2022 season saw Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) and Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) driving to Felicity and Tane’s (Ethan Browne) wedding, which was taking place at a rural farm after a last-minute change of venue.

They were traveling there in Felicity’s father’s old ute, which Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Justin (James Stewart) had spent the past two weeks painstakingly refurbishing as Cash’s wedding gift to his sister.

They were unaware that the night before the wedding, one of Tex’s (Lucas Lineham) gang members had tampered with the ute’s brakes.

Summer Bay appears to have forgotten that Cash had a price on his head after the Death Adders biker gang shot and killed their leader Marty (Ben Wood). It appears that Cash was the gang’s target when they sent one of their lackeys to tamper with the ute’s brakes because the initial plan was for Cash to drive his sister to her wedding.

In the season return, which airs in Australia on Monday 9th January at 7pm, Felicity and Eden will realise that they’re unable to brake as the car hurtles at speed through the country roads.

They are about to collide with Leah and Justin when Justin swerves to escape them, sending Leah and his car flying off the road, flipping, and through the air.

Flick and Justin eventually halt after smashing through a gas station’s barrier.

The return week’s advertisements depict Eden after the collision, unconscious and without a known outcome. The firemen are trying to get Felicity out of the car when the alarm is eventually raised, and Tane and Gary (Peter Phelps) arrive at the crash scene.

Flick is still trapped inside the ute when a spark ignites gasoline that is seeping from it, turning the tragic situation upside down.

We now have updated return-week synopses that offer us more information about what to anticipate.

As Justin was charged with restoring the old ute, and with everyone oblivious to the Death Adders gang’s actions, he looks set to blame himself for the ute’s brakes failing.

With a trailer revealing that Leah is stabbed by a metal pole that shatters their windscreen, he won’t just hold himself accountable for Eden and Felicity’s demise but also for his girlfriend’s injuries.

Cash might perhaps lose Eden from his life forever, as well as his chance to be with her.

Cash used to like Eden, and now Eden likes him back, but Cash was left broken when Jasmine (Sam Frost) left town, and he’s afraid of getting his heart broken again. This is why the two have been tiptoeing around each other for months.

Will it be too late now that he has recovered his senses and realized that, after all, he does desire Eden? Will she survive after the crash, considering she is currently unconscious?

After Bree (Juliet Godwin) was abducted by Jacob (Alex Williams) in the final week of the 2022 season, Remi has his own struggles.

Remi once more takes matters into his own hands when neither of them are present when the show resumes.

Thankfully it seems that Remi finds her, with the synopses telling us that “Bree is trapped” in Wednesday’s episode and that, in Thursday’s ep, she “stands her ground.”

However, while Remi finds her, it seems that she may not be too happy to see him, with a “bittersweet” reunion between the pair.

Is Bree bitter that Remi didn’t try harder to stop Jacob from taking her away, or have Jacob’s actions left her broken?

In the episode aired on January 11th, Dean gets surprised by a familiar face.

This throwback is probably a new character named Mali Hudson (Kyle Shilling), who has been described as a “fun and cheeky” surfer with connections to a beloved Summer Bay figure.

Many people predict that Rose and Mali will fall in love later this year because Kyle Shilling has been seen filming a number of scenes with Kristy Marillier (Rose Delaney).

Mali isn’t the only face from Dean’s past who’ll be turning up in Summer Bay in 2023, as we’ll also see the return of Dean’s mum Karen Thompson (Georgia Adamson)

When Dean introduced Karen to his son Jai in March, she was last seen (River Jarvis). Since Lynne McGranger (Irene) shared an Instagram photo of Georgia Adamson with other cast members in Palm Beach, fans have been waiting for her return.

With a fresh advertisement giving us our first look at the infant, Ziggy and Dean’s baby is due to arrive early in the new year.

Three episodes of Home and Away have typically broadcast on Thursday nights on Seven. There will only be one show on Thursday at 7 p.m., at least for the first week, with Big Bash cricket airing starting at 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, Home and Away is making a far earlier than usual return to Australian television. The first episode returned on Monday, January 31, 2022.

On January 17, 2023, the show will mark its 35th anniversary. It is unknown at this time if anything special is in store for Episode 7951, which airs on that day.
