When Johnny Ruffo passed away last month at the age of 35 from brain cancer, she was by his side.

Additionally, on Sunday, the actor and singer’s broken-hearted ex-girlfriend Tahnee Sims shared a priceless memory with the late Home and Away star on Instagram.

One month has passed since his untimely passing, when she wrote her heartbreaking post.

A picture of the couple laughing while sharing a loving embrace was featured in Sims’ homage.

Heartfelt remarks from friends and fans swamped the comments section.

Johnny Ruffo’s partner Tahnee Sims shared a heartbreaking tribute to the Home and Away star on the one-month anniversary of his death on Sunday

A commenter said, “My heart breaks for you, xxx.”

Another person added, “He will be with you, watching over you, always.”

A third said, “Sending you so much strength.”

After a protracted fight with brain cancer, the actor and singer passed away quietly last month in a Sydney hospital with his loved ones and partner Tahnee at his side.

A statement said, “We had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny today with a heavy heart.”

Johnny passed away calmly, surrounded by Tahnee and his family, and with the help of some amazing nurses and doctors.

The star’s family announced on his own Instagram that a memorial ceremony will take place in Perth on November 25.

The statement said, “More details will follow. A memorial service to celebrate John’s incredible life will be held on November 25 in Perth, WA.”

He was a pleasant, gifted, and occasionally mischievous youngster. Johnny had a strong will and was highly determined. He fought valiantly and determinedly through to the very end. A lovely spirit with so much more to offer.

“Johnny, you have our undying love and we will always be grateful for the joy you brought into our lives.” You can relax.

Following a medical visit for excruciating headaches in 2017, Johnny was initially diagnosed with brain cancer.

He had a 7cm brain tumor surgically removed from his frontal lobe in August of that year after being sent for chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

After receiving his first diagnosis in 2017, Johnny experienced months of remission until disclosing in November 2020 that the illness had resurfaced.

He disclosed in August 2022 that his brain cancer was terminal and expressed concern about Tahnee, his partner, handling his loss.

In December 2022, Johnny said that he had completed another year of chemotherapy and that he was excited for a break and to spend Christmas with his family.

Johnny began a new round of chemotherapy in March of this year. He shared a picture of himself receiving the treatment in a hospital with his partner Tahnee by his side.

He revealed in a devastating appearance on The Project last year his worries regarding Tahnee’s post-death support.

“You can only imagine how tough it’s been on her,” he said to Carrie Bickmore, the host at the time.

I hate to say it, but I often imagine how difficult it would be for her if something were to happen to me.

‘So, it’s something that I don’t want to think about. It just gets me a little bit emotional about it because I know at some point something will happen, whether it’s, you know, a month from now or 10 years from now or 20 years.’

He also told Bickmore he had already outlived his life expectancy.

‘At some point it will get me but I’m still fighting. Still kicking on. Looking up my diagnosis and my tumour, the average life expectancy was three years,’ he said.

Born in the Perth suburb of Balcatta, Johnny’s showbusiness career began when he successfully auditioned for the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011.

After being mentored by Guy Sebastian, Ruffo was the last contestant eliminated in the competition, which was ultimately won by Reece Mastin.

A music career followed, with Johnny releasing several hit singles including On Top and Take It Home.

But he is perhaps best known for starring as fan favourite Chris Harrington on Home and Away between 2013 and 2016.

He also appeared on that show’s soap rival Neighbours in 2020.
