Spoiler alert: this year’s Home and Away season finale isn’t on the list of fans’ favourites. After the final episode of 2022 finished on a blazing cliffhanger, viewers were divided, with many claiming it was the most “disappointing” and “underwhelming” finale ever.

Every year, Home and Away promises a more tense, exciting, and suspenseful conclusion than ever before. Think about natural disasters, fires, car accidents, additional car accidents, yet additional car accidents, shootings, and more. You name it, it’s happened in the not-so-sleepy seaside town of Summer Bay. Here are some of the previous season finales that fans of the programme think are the best.

Fans’ favourite suspenseful epilogues
One viewer named five previous Home and Away finales that were superior to the season finale this year.

One person stated, “MY favourite season finales have been 1988, 2004, 2005, 2014, and 2020.”

A number of Facebook users named the 2014 bus crash episode as one of the best season finales for the programme, proving that it was indeed a fan favourite. In that episode, Kyle Pryor’s character, Nate, was kidnapped by Sophie Taylor (Bridgette Sneddon), who then drenched him in gasoline. Then, after swerving their vehicle into the path of a bus carrying passengers—among them a pregnant Ricky (Bonnie Sween)—Nate caused a significant rollover. A third vehicle, driven by Darryl Braxton (Steve Peacocke), who had just learned he was going to be a father to a baby boy, was also involved in the collision.

The mineshaft incident from the 2003 season finale has become a popular season climax, despite the fact that many fans expressed a desire for less drama and more happy endings after the 2022 finale. One viewer even commented: “I liked the Sutherland family trapped in the mineshaft and it’s closely followed by the hospital bomb blast.”

In the 2003 episode, the Sutherlands were nearly buried alive after becoming trapped in a mine that had collapsed. Jade (Kate Garven), an asthmatic, came dangerously close to experiencing tragedy as a result of the situation, but the family was eventually saved and brought back to safety in the Bay.

A phone bomb was placed in Bianca’s (Lisa Gormley) bag a decade later by Jade Montgomery (Tasma Walton), which exploded in the hospital as Ricky was giving birth in the well-liked bomb-blast finale of 2013. As a result of the explosion’s injuries, Ethan (Matt Minto) passed away.

Hospitals have appeared frequently in fan-favorite finales; one viewer claimed her favourite season-ending episode made her cry.

“the hospital siege that resulted in Mason and Robbo’s deaths. When Jaz was pleading with Robbo to survive, I sobbed for days. Sam did a fantastic job in the role “She composed.

The in question episode was the 2019 season finale, in which a gang took over the neighbourhood hospital and held residents of Summer Bay hostage. When Mason (Orpheus Pledge) tried to shield Bella (Courtney Miller), who required immediate medical attention, he was shot and killed. Robbo (Jake Ryan), who was killed off in a car accident and had his passing revealed in the 2020 season premiere, was also a victim of the episode.

Of course, no one could ever forget the brutal attack by Ian Meadows’ Rocco Cooper on Kate Ritchie’s Sally in 2006, which left her for dead. One fan said that they couldn’t, “I started watching Home and Away in 2006, and I thought the 2006 season finale was the best. when Sally Fletcher was stabbed by Rocco Cooper.”

Long-time viewers gave the inaugural Home and Away season finale high marks. In the 1988 episode, played by Ray Meagher, Bobby (Nicolle Dicksonparents, )’s Donald Fisher (Norman Coburn) and Morag Bellingham, were revealed to Ailsa (Judy Nunn) (Cornelia Frances). GASP. For good measure, a Christmas celebration with the family was also included.

Finales that fell short
Fans have been let down by Home and Away season finales before; many consider 2020 to be the worst of all time. The episode’s teaser trailers promised steamy one-night trysts, spilled family secrets, dangerous prison encounters, and romances; nevertheless, the actual finale disappointed viewers.

“ever, the worst season finale! I had hoped for a more thrilling cliffhanger, but there wasn’t one “On the time, one viewer left a comment on the show’s Instagram page.
