Dean (Patrick O’Connor) and Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) are at home with the baby when they hear a knock on the door – and they’re completely blindsided when Bella (Courtney Miller) appears, suitcase in tow.
They were unaware she was even present in the nation. It turns out that she has completed her show and is returning to Australia for a short visit to meet baby Izzy.
Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) is one of the first things Dean asks Bella, but she responds that she doesn’t care if she sees him. However, it can be difficult to avoid everyone in a small town like the Bay.That evening, Bella was at the Salt bar when she turned around and saw her ex.
When Nikau recognizes the woman he was compelled to shove away, he is absolutely astounded. The two initially act awkwardly before they settle down and start conversing.
Nikau finds it difficult to express himself, but Bella cuts to the chase: “He made it clear what he wanted, and her life is amazing now.” She’s doing fantastic since it wouldn’t be the case if they were still together. Nikau is devastated as she walks away.
Nikau agrees to meet Bella the following day and starts to grow a little hopeful. She does, however, give him some printed pictures of his family, which she claims he will likely appreciate. Nikau is deflated once more since Bella is not only doing well, but she also doesn’t need any reminders of the Paratas.
Bella is venting to Dean about how angry she is that Nikau broke up with her without even attempting to explain while Nikau is adjusting to this unwelcome reality.
As a result of Dean’s advice to be honest with Nikau, she arrives at his home and questions him. Her frown softens as Nikau explains that the circumstances with the bikies caused him to keep her away. Could they still have a chance?
