Paddy O’Connor and Sophie Dillman, who both star in the Australian serial opera Home and Away, appear to be moving further in their romance.

One of Home and Away’s most cherished television couples is Sophie Dillman and Paddy O’Connor.

The two Australian actors, who portray Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni on the well-known Australian soap opera, have also developed an off-screen affair.

The couple met while they were teenagers and were classmates at the same acting school when both were growing up in Queensland.

But they didn’t rekindle their romance and start dating again until they arrived in Summer Bay in 2019.

In the present, the two are still going strong, with Sophie and Paddy even making suggestions about moving their relationship forward.

The Daily Star has looked at the engagement rumours surrounding Sophie and Paddy, including eloping to Vegas and hiding a ring finger.

“Hiding her ring finger”: Sophie

Late last year, speculation of Sophie and Paddy getting engaged spread online after keen-eyed followers picked up on something in one of her photos.

Many people, according to Yahoo, asserted that Sophie concealed her left ring hand in photographs.

Fans believed the two had gotten engaged as a result of it and their romantic trip to Greece in the summer.

Sophie, though, was eager to clear the air, saying to TV Week: “Oh I know! Many comments on our images have implied that I was concealing my left hand everywhere.

“Even coworkers perceived us as enthusiastic. However, I assure you that there is no engagement and the hand is bare. Let’s dispel this rumour. Please.”

Considering “eloping”

The couple recently increased rumours that they are engaged when they hinted that wedding bells would soon start to ring.

However, it seems that Sophie and Paddy are at odds over the details of their nuptials.

It got to the point that Sophie recommended they “elope in Vegas.”

“I recently had a few girlfriends get married, and watching them deal with the stress of organising important days…

She said to New Idea, “Perhaps we’ll just elope in Vegas.

“The complete Elvis drive-through wedding experience in Las Vegas!”

Paddy, though, admitted that he was concerned about the consequences that an elopement would bring about.

He declared, “I don’t think our families will ever forgive us.

having children

The pair bought a puppy in the beginning of 2021 to advance their relationship.

Paddy said to New Idea how getting their puppy, Winnie, into their lives was like a “trial run” towards beginning a family as well.

It helped me realise that starting our own family is the path we want to go since “he’s just the absolute best little dude and it was the first time I’ve had someone absolutely rely on me,” he says.
