Courtney Clarke, a recent addition to Home and Away, has hinted at a romance for her character Valerie.
Viewers in the UK will soon be able to witness the newcomer’s on-screen friendship with Leah at the mental health clinic, which has previously been introduced to Australian audiences.
Former children’s TV host Clarke hinted that Valerie will soon develop romantic feelings for another character, but she withheld the identity of that figure.
“It’s quite a beautiful one,” she said to the Australian magazine Stuff. I would just say that there is a noticeable strong polarity. To discover out, you’ll have to watch.”
Though he was quick to clarify that Valerie “doesn’t have any sort of negative intentions,” Clarke hinted that Valerie will raise “a few unsuspecting waves in the community over some different issues.”
“I made an effort to portray her as sympathetic as I could. One of the best things about Home and Away is that it gives you a more intimate look at many of the characters, almost as if the viewer is given the whole picture.
“I thought if she’s going to be causing drama with the other characters at least, hopefully, the audience will understand why.”

Valerie’s “past experience is something that I would consider to be incredibly rare,” as Clarke hinted at, and there’s a reason why she is the way she is.
Despite Valerie’s prior involvement in music, Clarke clarified that she will not be playing or joining Lyrik, preferring to “leave all of the music side of things to the Home and Away professionals”.
