Ada Nicodemou, a fan of Home and Away, revealed a startling career change to her audience.
The 46-year-old actress has been playing Leah Patterson since 2000, which makes her one of the Australian soap opera cast members with the longest tenure. The TV personality has since turned her focus to literature, announcing the publication of Mia Megastar, her debut children’s book.
“I’m very excited to announce my brand new book, Mia Megastar!” she said in an Instagram post. “It’s all about family, food, friendship & fun and is the perfect junior fiction novel for all the young people out there (aimed at 8 year old girls and above) who want to be megastars.”
The soap opera icon teased fans with what to expect in the video while holding up a copy of the book. She clarified, “It’s all about family, fun, food, and friendship.” “It’s just for all of you young girls out there who want to be megastars.”
The mother of one disclosed that it’s “loosely based” on her childhood and the things that motivated her to pursue acting. “And Mia accomplishes this by starting her own theatre club with her friends,” the speaker continued. It’s friendly, humorous, and centred around the bizarre Greek culture. It will be something you adore.
Ada received early congratulations on the book from her famous friends and co-stars. Marilyn Chambers actor Emily Symons wrote, “Congratulations Ada, how exciting!”
“This is fantastic! We’ll get it,” said Kyly Clarke, a former Australian model who now develops real estate. Another complimented: “Well done & congratulations on the new book I hope it does inspire younger girls to become actors!!!”
Ada is doing well, but Leah, the character she plays on the soap opera, has not recovered from her abduction by a cult. Leah has had terrible dreams about the experience and has had trouble falling asleep.
