There will likely be some noteworthy absences from Tane Parata and Felicity Newman’s wedding, as hinted at by Home and Away.

The long-running soap opera honors its historic 8,000th episode next week, and the happy couple is scheduled to get married on Australian television.

Tane and Felicity have already tried getting married once, but things went horribly wrong when Felicity was engaged in a car accident on the way to the ceremony.

Characters Chloe Anderson and Gemma Parata, who had both quit the show, sent their regrets at the time and stated that they would be unable to travel from New Zealand.

At the time, Tane was disappointed by these omissions because he had hoped that his entire family would be present.

Tane and Felicity don’t want any visitors this time, so Home and Away executives have once again written in an explanation for potential no-shows. A second wedding is planned.

Tane and Felicity decided to get married as quickly as possible in this week’s Australian episodes, taking charge of their own bridal arrangements.

They chose to have a small guest list and no extended family members in presence because they wanted this ceremony to feel different from their disastrous first one.

Only Cash, Felicity’s brother, and Eden Fowler, her closest friend, were invited so they could serve as official witnesses.

Tane heard Felicity say, “Our simple’show up and get it done’ wedding is all arranged. This is incredible. We don’t have to wait, which is wonderful. Please don’t worry about your outfits, flowers, invitations, or visitors—especially guests.”

There are no other guests, Felicity joked when Cash and Eden enquired later. You wouldn’t even be there if you weren’t required as witnesses.

Nikau, Tane’s nephew, has since moved to New York to be with Bella Nixon and has also departed the show at an Australian pace.

Nikau participated in the ceremony virtually by providing Felicity with some last-minute guidance over the phone regarding how to say her vows in te reo Mori.
