General Hospital spoilers spill Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) wasn’t exactly over the moon when his wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), let him know she submitted his personal medical information for an experimental medical trial that could help him to walk again.
While Curtis certainly isn’t hoping to live out his days in a wheelchair, he’s also not keen on getting his hopes up for a cure to his plight when he has only just made peace with their not being one. Now, Curtis is about to share this news with his father, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) — and the response might not be exactly what he would have expected.
General Hospital Spoilers — Curtis, the Realist
Curtis is powerless over himself. Although Portia made an effort to hide her enthusiasm for the trial, it was clear that she didn’t want to give him a possible way out of it because she sent in his information without even asking him. Knowing her, even if he had declined to try to participate, she might have submitted his case information nevertheless.
Curtis would prefer not to consider those options, but even while Portia’s ultimate purpose is undoubtedly good, he could find it difficult to resist doubting her motivations. Even with her optimism, Curtis will not be able to accept this trial as a genuine possibility.
GH Spoilers Hint Marshall Always Looks on the Upside
When Curtis learns that Marshall is on Team Portia, he might regret telling his father the truth. In contrast to the man who abandoned his boys and wife so many years ago, Marshall is typically the kind of guy who prefers to see the bright side.
When Curtis tries to diminish the chance of success — or the chance of even being selected for the trial — Marshall isn’t going to have it. Is this just the pep talk that Curtis needs, or will he feel pushed to get his hopes up for something that may never come to fruition and only leave him feeling disappointed?
General Hospital Spoilers — Portia Keeps Pushing
When Portia discovers additional information about the upcoming trial process and developments that increase the success rate, she won’t be able to contain her excitement.
She will not receive the answer she is hoping for from her husband, though, as she keeps smiling and bringing them home to Curtis.
If Curtis is chosen as a candidate, will Portia and Marshall be able to work together to persuade him to embrace this dangerous but potentially life-saving procedure?
