The Daytime Emmy-winning actor Tyler Christopher, who portrayed Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) and Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital (GH), is still mourned by the soap opera community.
The renowned actress Constance Towers, who portrayed Helena Cassadine on General Hospital, paid tribute to her former coworker on social media recently in an endearing post.

Only a few days shy of turning 51, Christopher passed away on the morning of October 31st from a cardiac event. He was 50 years old. Former GH coworker and friend Maurice Benard (GH Sonny Corinthos) shared the news of his passing on social media.
Tyler played Constance Towers’ on-screen grandson on GH for a long time, according to a Facebook post by the actress. She claims that, aside from Nikolas Cassadine, her Helena Cassadine persona was cruel and devoid of empathy.
She continues by saying that Nik, Helena’s “Achilles heel,” was the only mistake she made. Constance says it was an easy role to play because her grandson is Christoper.
The “nicest, sweetest, most caring man” was Tyler. She goes on to say that while it was heartbreaking to watch him fight demons, it was also satisfying to see him prevail. She declared her love for him and her impending loss of him.

Towers continues, “One of my favorite memories of Tyler is the time, just before they were going to film a scene, a small voice said, ‘Dad?’”
When they came to a stop, he was carrying his six-year-old son to work that day. Christoper asked in a soft voice, “What is it, son?” not knowing what to anticipate.
No one on the set objected when Christopher gave the young boy a hug because all he wanted to say was that he loved him. Constance says that even the most stern executives were moved by Tyler’s gentle and patient demeanor.
