The return of Roxy Willis’ mother Gemma Ramsay to Neighbours in 2022 has been confirmed.
In a promotional video posted to the Ramsay Street soap’s official Twitter account, Roxy’s on-screen mother foreshadowed her character’s return, which corresponds with her character’s wedding storyline.
“Some of Roxy’s family members come by,” she continued, before showing a clip of Beth Buchanan’s Gemma advising Roxy not to marry Kyle.
“You’re going to kick yourself,” Gemma warns.
Meanwhile, in early 2022, Roxy alluded to “heartbreak” and “extremely difficult times” for her character, as well as the possibility that her friendship with Harlow “may never be the same.”
Further video show Roxy and Harlow arguing, with Roxy telling her friend, “Maybe you shouldn’t come to the wedding,” among other things.
Beth first appeared on the show in 1990 and 1991, before returning in 2019 for Roxy’s first year on Ramsay Street.
The 2022 trailer shows “gale force winds” placing life in peril, thus Roxy’s wedding to Kyle could not occur as planned. Amy Greenwood’s character, Jacinta Stapleton, has previously stated that “tragedy” will strike at the wedding.
Mackenzie’s relationships with Harlow Robinson and Hendrix Greyson will be addressed next month, according to Georgie Stone.
The arrival of Amy’s daughter Zara Selwyn will be seen when the show resumes. Zara walks in on Amy in bed with her lovers Levi Canning and Ned Willis, played by Freya Van Dyke.
Neighbours air on weekdays at 1.45 pm and 5.30 pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30 pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
