Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall is believed to have called time on her 11-year marriage in August after her husband Andrew Buchan allegedly had an affair with his co-star Leila Farzad.
Amy Nuttall’s mother has died just four months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The Emmerdale and Downton Abbey star shared the tragic announcement on her Instagram account with a gallery of snaps of her late mum.
Sharing with her 3,500 followers, she stated: “My heart is beating loudly whilst I write this. Yesterday I said goodbye to my beautiful dear mummy.
“She was diagnosed in July with a glioblastoma (grade 4). To say it was the biggest shock would be an understatement.
“Together with my wonderful family, we helped care for her to the end where she died in my arms as I lay beside her on 30/10/23 at 5.05pm.
“She humbled us all with how she handled this cruel diagnosis… never complaining, always smiling and bringing her daft humour to the fore every day.
“Mum, you were my rock. Always. My best friend. I’m not sure how I’m going to do life without you but I know you’ll always be with me to carry me through as you always did. Thank you mummy… you gave me the best days I ever had. #glioblastoma #braintumour #rosemere.”
Amy uploaded a number of heart-breaking images of the pair of them, including childhood snaps, photos from Amy’s wedding day and stand-alone shots of her mother smiling at the camera.
Many of her followers flocked to the comments section to send their sympathies.

One fan said: “Dear Amy, I lost my dad 3 months ago and feel your pain. The sadness is forever and I’m sending you so much love.”
A second chimed in: “I’m so so sorry for your loss. I lost my wonderful father in September and I’m utterly devastated. I understand the pain and shock and fear and numbness you’re feeling right now. Be kind to yourself. Xx.”
A third typed: “Your mum was a wonderful lady Amy, and you were amazing yesterday. Such a beautiful tribute and service. Lots of love xxxx.”
The tragic loss comes just three months after Amy split up with her husband of 11 years, Andrew Buchan.
Her marriage broke down after rumours circulated that he’d had an affair in February with his co-star Leila Farzad.
Neither Amy nor Andrew have addressed the split publically.
