The new Dingle family member is concealing something that no one has been able to decipher, according to Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson.
Emmerdale viewers had suspicions about the newcomer ever since Caleb Milligan (played by Will Ash) arrived in the Yorkshire Dales because they thought he might be an undercover cop. Producer of the ITV soap Jane Hudson confirmed there is another aspect to the enigmatic Dingle boy that viewers haven’t yet guessed.

Viewers have witnessed Caleb attempt to gain the trust of his long-lost brother Cain Dingle ever since he arrived in the Dales at the end of last year (Jeff Hordley).

In a recent episode of the soap opera, it appeared as though he had finally been welcomed into the family, but when Caleb was seen texting an enigmatic figure, doubts began to surface.

Fans worry that the half-brother could be out to get Cain because it is obvious there is a plot afoot with the newest addition and the mysterious person he has been speaking to. Many think the half-brother could be an undercover police officer.

Although show creator Jane Hudson was quick to dispel any copper rumors, she then revealed there is still something viewers don’t know about Caleb.

Judi Love, a panelist on Thursday’s episode of Loose Women, admitted she’s a fan of the newest addition.

“A viewer Eve has gotten in touch and wants to know what he really is up to and asks if he’s an undercover cop,” the speaker said.

“Well, I can tell you he’s not an undercover cop, Coronation Street did that story brilliantly with Spider recently,” Jane responded (Martin Hancock).

There is a secret about Caleb that the viewers have not yet guessed because we are not going to copy it, so he is not an undercover police officer.

I’ve read all the theories about who he is, and I keep thinking, “It’s not that one, it’s not that one.”

The show’s creator also mentioned Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), a member of the Dingle family, and her upcoming love life on the soap opera.

Jane confirmed Belle will date this summer after one viewer said Joe-Warren Plant’s character Jacob Gallagher might be a good match.

Well, she won’t find love with Jacob, but she will find love, she continued.

“We’ve got some summertime romance for Belle, so you’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but yes, that is going to happen, Belle is going to find true love at last.”

Jane acknowledged that it might be the most ideal relationship Emmerdale has ever seen as the Loose Women ladies rejoiced at the news.

In an upcoming episode of the soap opera, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), whose marriage to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) ended because of her affair, has been struggling with his mental health.

Soon, viewers will see the endearing character attempt suicide after his mental state reaches an all-time low.

Paddy, who is still living with his ex, is experiencing loneliness and grief over the passing of their daughter Grace and finds it difficult to ask for help.

Jane made the following remark in reference to the depression plot: “We’re hoping that watching Paddy’s journey it might give them (men) that courage to open that door, the smallest amount, let a bit of light in and you’ll see there’s somebody right there.”

ITV broadcasts Emmerdale weeknights at 7:30 p.m. with an hour-long special every Thursday.
