Following the announcement that Gurlaine Kaur Garcha will be leaving EastEnders after nearly four years, Ash Panesar won’t be around for very long in Walford.

Following the announcement, which upset fans, a representative for the BBC One soap said, “We can confirm that Gurlaine will be departing EastEnders, and we wish her the best for the future.”

Gurlaine is currently filming sequences for the long-running serial drama, so she will continue to appear on screen despite the revelation of her departure. However, this hasn’t prevented fans from guessing on how Ash will leave the Square.

As viewers are aware, Ash fulfilled a lifelong ambition by joining the new neighborhood doctor’s office last year. However, the new practice has already lost one of its major members in Nina Gupta (Hersha Verity), who left after choosing to support the Panesar family over Ranveer’s murder.

In light of this, viewers have been curious as to what what would cause Ash to leave the Square and her ideal career behind.

It’s possible that her father, Nish (Navin Chowdhry), will return.

As viewers may remember, Nish was serving time for murder, and Ash believed that Nish committed the crime while defending his family from an intruder.

Despite their initial disagreements, the father and daughter pair have developed a strong bond in recent months. Ash views her father as a “hero” for what he done.

In actuality, Nish killed the husband of Suki’s (Balvinder Sopal) best friend, with whom she had become close, on the pretext that she was having an affair with him, a fact that shocked Kheerat (Jaz Singh Deol).

When he was discovered, Nish told his family the truth and begged them to give him another chance. They’ve developed a new friendship as a result of Ash’s eventual forgiveness of him, but may things be about to change?

Although the patriarch claimed to be a different man, it is obvious that he is still as wicked, vengeful, and oppressive as ever. In the coming weeks, could Ash learn more about her father’s true nature?

If so, may this have a significant impact on her choice to leave? Will she depart the Square in disgust, perhaps?

Could Nish commit murder if Ash does expose him? It’s possible since he has previously shown that he is capable of doing it and because he even put Kheerat’s life in danger when it came to his own family.

Or may Ash leave the Square for altogether other reasons? Will she learn, for instance, about the friendship between her mother Suki and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace)?
