EXCLUSIVE: Fans of Coronation Street have witnessed Daisy Midgeley attempting to maintain composure while Daniel Osbourne makes contact with his ex-girlfriend.
Last year, viewers of Coronation Street witnessed the disintegration of Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) and Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) relationship. He made the decision to end the day even though he was ready to tie the knot.
It occurs following her admission that she had an affair with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), who has since departed Weatherfield. The situation is exacerbated by the return of his former partner, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), who hasn’t wasted any time getting back in touch with Daniel.
Charlotte gave an exclusive interview to Express.co.uk and other media outlets, where she discussed Daisy’s adjustment to being single after her breakup. She is in a lot of pain, the soap opera star admitted.
“She is heartbroken, but she hides it from the world with a lot of makeup and clever comments, in typical Daisy fashion. She recently broke up with Daniel, so I imagine she’s still hoping to get back together.
Their relationship has always been so intense. She is now left to hope and pray that she can persuade him to try again after he has had some time to get over the initial hurt.
Though, after her surprise return, Bethany has been getting closer to Daniel, so she now has some competition.
Daniel recently celebrated his birthday, and his ex came over to join in the festivities.
But while she was there, Bethany became fully aware of Daisy’s terrible experience from the previous year involving her acid attack and stalker Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still).
Some ITV viewers think Bethany might be connected to Justin in some way, which would explain why she returned to Weatherfield, given how she seemed to change when the topic came up.
“What if Bethany is with Justin, and that’s why she’s questioning Daniel about what happened with Daisy?” asked @WhoPotterVian on Twitter. #Corrie.
“Who do we all think Bethany was speaking to on the phone then?” asked @nation_corrie. Why has she returned at all? It seems to me that she is seeing Daniel for a different purpose.
“I do wonder if finding out about the stalking/acid attack is gonna slightly change how Bethany is with Daisy,” said @matt_johnson_89 in a comment.
“Bethany has totally been sent on a scavenger mission for gossip hasn’t she?” tweeted @COOL_D72.
The soap opera star Lucy Fallon hinted that drama might ensue when she disclosed that Bethany didn’t choose to make a comeback.
“She’s basically being forced to come back—I don’t know if I’m allowed to say what it is,” the actress remarked.
She isn’t revealing it right away, though, because of something that happened in London that kind of forced her to return. She is keeping her motivation for returning somewhat under wraps.
