Exclusive: Over the next few months, Coronation Street will welcome a few new cast members as exciting new plots take shape, but some characters won’t be around to witness them play out.

Stephanie Davis, who portrays Courtney Vance on Coronation Street, is said to have wrapped up her brief tenure on the ITV soap opera.

After a three-year break from television, Stephanie returned to the show earlier this year when she joined Coronation Street.

Darren Vance’s (Ryan Early) business partner Courtney initially stormed onto the cobbles as his wife, but she quickly started an affair with Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).

The couple’s romance didn’t last long after they moved in together because Courtney broke up with Aadi without telling her.

Recent scenes show her sending Darren to her apartment with Aadi to gather her belongings, and Darren telling Aadi that they were resuming their marriage.

“Steph was over the moon to land a part on Corrie after things went so wrong on Hollyoaks and she had genuinely impressed with her work and commitment to the ITV soap opera,” an insider told The Sun, speculating that the couple may be bidding farewell to Weatherfield.

She had naturally hoped that Courtney, the maneater, would remain around for a good few years, but the bosses believe the story arc is finished.

“She’s not being killed off, though, so there’s no reason why Courtney couldn’t one day return and the door remains open to Steph.”

For a response, Express.co.uk reached out to Coronation Street and Stephanie Davis’s representatives.

Iain MacLeod, the head of Coronation Street, recently spoke candidly about Courtney’s future on the program, telling press outlets and Express.co.uk: “I love Steph and I love Courtney.”

“I just feel like she’s been this huge, colorful, glitter bomb that went off in the middle of that plot, but we believe Amy Barlow [Elle Mulvaney] is Aadi’s long-term direction.

“So what Courney’s role, if any, going forward I don’t know definitely, but I don’t see her and Aadi being the forever couple there.”
