Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is now a shell of her former self in Coronation Street as a result of Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) inappropriate behaviour, but Alya (Sair Khan)
who’s long had her suspicions — takes it upon herself to confront him in the upcoming episodes in the hopes of finding out whether her grandma is right — can she find out the truth?
Geoff’s sinister behaviour has been getting worse over the last couple of weeks, as he has repeatedly left Yasmeen in fear of her life— from becoming vicious after a magic trick went wrong, from leaving her trapped in a box while heading out to the pub— he has stopped at nothing to exert control over his wife.
It has been revealed that as a consequence of Geoff’s brutal acts— during this week’s set of episodes — Yasmeen will be left in tears, and neighbour Gail (Helen Worth) overhears her weeping in the backyard — and as a result, is concerned.
Gail relays her discovery to Alya, who is eager to uncover what is going on, and Coronation Street has announced that she continues to approach Geoff on his doorstep in the upcoming episodes and demands to know if Yasmeen is safe.
Geoff’s evasive behaviour leaves Alya more suspicious than ever before, and — later — a worried Geoff reveals to Yasmeen that without her, he couldn’t cope and Yasmeen comforts him.
