Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley will play in the FA Cup’s third round, which will air on ITV.
Viewers of Coronation Street are upset that their favorite soap opera won’t be airing tonight due to ITV’s decision to axe it.
The FA Cup has taken the place of the Friday night show, which usually airs from 8 to 9 p.m.
Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur square off as the FA Cup moves into a suspenseful third round. After 30 minutes of commentary, the main game starts at 8 o’clock in the evening.
Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. Despite the soap opera airing on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on ITV, fans were still incensed about missing their weekly Friday fix.
Monday’s episode of Corrie will also be rescheduled as Wigan take on Manchester United. One person took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: “No #Corrie tonight. Football instead.”
Earlier in the week, somebody else said: “What’s #Corrie doing on today? not more rugby, football whatever.” Another unhappy viewer expressed: “No episode on Monday either due to Football-back on Tuesday at 8:00pm #Corrie.”
A fourth added: “No #Corrie or #Eastenders on tonight?!”
Star of the show Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt, recently opened up about Damon Hay’s (Ciaran Griffiths) return to Weatherfield. The pair previously started sleeping together behind Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) back.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other publications about whether she was expecting Damon to return, she said: “No! He’s completely out of the blue. I think if she’s honest there’s probably some unfinished business there.
“The way he left and feelings, possibly towards him, which she quite possibly doesn’t understand. There’s probably going to be a big mix of emotions, especially because Adam seems to be thawing.
“She always thought, ‘He’s divorcing me and that’s a door closed and it’s over.’
“So over New Year, he seems to be showing that maybe he has still got feeling for her? I think she’s probably in a very confused place,” the actress teased.
