In upcoming scenes on the ITV serial drama, Brian Packham from Coronation Street is about to learn something about his family history.
Following a DNA discovery on Coronation Street, Peter Gunn’s character Brian Packham might learn he has new relatives. ITV spoilers have revealed that the headteacher becomes fixated on the results of a DNA test in his quest to learn more about his family history.
Brian is overjoyed when the results of his DNA test show that he is descended from Italians.
When Brian begins to list all of his Italian characteristics, his friend Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) points out that he is only 8% Italian.
He becomes adamant about finding out about his extended family and refuses to hear what she has to say.
Later, he tells Mary that he has signed up for a few family history websites in the hopes of finding his Italian ancestors and perhaps even meeting some of them.
Will Brian’s search be successful, or will he risk falling victim to a website scam?
Mary is concerned that her chances of finding relatives are slim because he is less than 10% Italian.
Will she keep alerting him to the threat posed by con artists?
After his partner Cathy Matthews (played by Melanie Hill) left Weatherfield last year, actor Peter from the Brian film series has opened up about finding love again.
He made fun of his longtime friend Mary, saying that his character was thinking of becoming close to her.
Peter admitted to Inside Soap, “I’d love it.” They complement each other well and are both quite bizarre and out-there.
They could make a great team, and I enjoy working with Patti.
“Characters like Brian and Mary provide light relief alongside the hard-hitting storylines,” the author continued. “That’s not to say that’s frivolous or meaningless, but it gives the balance of light and shade that Corrie does so well.”
