Coronation Street’s Ed Bailey has taken desperate measures in a bid to clear his mountain of debts that have accumulated over the past few weeks.

Trevor Michael Georges’ character Ed Bailey on Coronation Street appears to be in danger after his family finds out he has resorted to gambling. According to official ITV soap opera spoilers, he’s desperate to try and get some money to make up for his losses.

letting Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), his daughter, know that paying off his debt mountain is his first concern, even if it means losing the builders’ yard. Nevertheless, when a job chance presents itself, his luck changes.

After a brief hiatus, soap villain Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) returns to the cobbles and tells Ed about a job remodeling a bar. Ed feels enticed by the offer since he knows it can provide him with the money he really needs.

Before the builder’s yard is sold, Damon says he will be able to pay for the renovations by taking his money out of the Bistro. Dee-Dee isn’t exactly thrilled about her father’s newfound opportunity, though.

Because she knows how dangerous Damon can be and what he can do, she advises Ed not to do business with him. But will Ed, in his desperation for the money, make a bargain with Satan?

Over the past few months, fans of the ITV soap saw Ed slip back into old habits after going into business with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

From gambling away £1,000 of his son’s money to borrowing some cash from friend Tony (Sean Cernow), Ed’s found himself in hot water.

Over the festive period, viewers will see Tony take action to get his money back, as Ed is unable to repay him.

Storming into the house and punching Ed, he decides to take the Baileys’ Christmas presents in exchange for the money he’s owed.
