Children in Need will air tonight on BBC One as part of a fundraising campaign for disadvantaged children and young people in the United Kingdom.

Celebrities, comedic routines, and the new Children in Need single are all part of the 41st-anniversary celebrations for the appeal.

‘A jam-packed evening of entertainment when an exciting line-up of familiar celebrities gets together to help raise money for vulnerable children across the UK,’ promises Children in Need.

What are EastEnders and Coronation Street doing to raise money for Children in Need?
The EastEnders cast has previously performed musical sketches for the fundraising event.

However, due to Coronavirus and other restrictions, that hasn’t happened for the past couple of years.

Instead, EastEnders and Coronation Street will team up for a unique sketch featuring Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

Janine and Steve walk into the First Dates restaurant and are met by Maitre’d Fred Sirieix, but can their spark last?

In the teaser video, Janine’s face lights up when Steve tells her he owns a cab firm.

Janine and Steve appear to have a lot in common, as they both had previous experience working in a pub – what a coincidence!

The sketch, written by BAFTA Award-winning and EMMY nominated British television writer Daran Little, will air on BBC One at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 19 as part of the BBC Children in Need charity show.
