On this week’s package of Home and Away, McLeod’s Daughters icon Bridie Carter was getting to meet her new co-stars.

And on Tuesday, as the long-running drama shot on Sydney’s Palm Beach, the actress has had no trouble sliding into her role as real estate agent Susie McCalister.

The 49-year-old has been seen in one scene, walking arm-in-arm with co-star Shane Withington, 62, who plays John Palmer.

At one point the actors seemed to pause with a director for a short conversation.
Bridie wore an animal dress in black and white and teamed a purse with matching boots.

In a navy blazer and black slacks, Shane looks dapper.

The pair crossed paths with Christian Green (played by Ditch Davey) during the film, as he stormed out of the Summer Bay Surf Club.

They met briefly with Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee), who raced after Christian.

Bridie changed wardrobes later that day to film another scene with Shane, this time on Surf Club balcony.

She was sporting an emerald green trench coat over a grey, navy shirt.

The characters were in celebratory mode, clinking champagne flutes with Shane, clad in a red and yellow tracksuit from the Surf Club.

Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons), who seemed to take issue with Susie and John, disrupted the party.

Three’s company! Later in the day, Bridie changed wardrobes to film another scene with Shane, this time on the balcony of the Surf Club. The celebration was interrupted by Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons), who appeared to take issue with Susie and John

After Marilyn left the scene, Susie and John started talking.

Marilyn has had a tense relationship with John following their break during the drama now unfolding on Seven.

It’s uncertain if the character of Bridie plays the latest love interest of John or even a member of his family.

Bridie revealed Tuesday that she was joining the show in a post on Instagram.

‘Glad to join [sic] the team/family on one of Australia’s longest-running series-@homeandaway,’ she captioned a picture of herself at Centennial Park in Sydney.

‘Very, very thankful to be welcomed into the family fold in these odd days.’

She added: ‘Getting more pics and notifications. You much, Bridie XXXX’.

‘I am very fortunate’: Bridie excitedly announced she was joining the show’s cast in a post on Instagram on Tuesday. She said it was ‘miraculous’ that she had landed the role given the current state of the entertainment industry
