After leaving Home and Away, Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor made the decision to move to London.
They are a real-life couple in addition to their role as Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson on the serial opera.
Before moving into Summer Bay, the two were acquainted, and they planned to leave the show together.
How did Sophie and Patrick meet?
While they first announced their relationship back in September 2019, the pair actually knew each other for many years before their soap debut together.
The pair have an eight-year long friendship that started when they studied together at acting school in Queensland.
After finishing their degrees, they both ended up on Home and Away with Sophie joining the cast first.
The couple is very serious after moving in together in 2020 and adopting an adorable little puppy together.
Why did Sophie and Dillman leave Home and Away?
After appearing in Home and Away for five years, the couple announced their departure from the show back in February.
The pair was excited for the next phase of their lives, although Sophie described the decision as “pretty big.”
“I guess after we kind of (decided to leave after) just over five years, we’re kind of entering a new stage, like dirty thirties,” she said on The Morning Show.
What are Sophie and Patrick doing in London?
After the performance, Sophie and Patrick made the choice to go to London. They continue to travel more during their free time, so they aren’t yet done relocating.
Even in their 30s, they joked that they were taking a gap year. They had so far taken a road trip around Scotland and Ireland, which they described as nothing short of fantastic.
Patrick revealed that they also went on a quick weekend break to Italy as they are keen to travel around Europe while they are residing in the UK.
