Another setback for Mackenzie Booth from Home and Away has occurred on Australian television, as her partner Gabe Miller abruptly left Summer Bay.

In the Channel 7 episode airing on Thursday, March 16, Mac confided in Mali Hudson and revealed that Gabe had departed town without saying goodbye.

In a recent Australian television drama, Gabe learned that his cancer had come back. Before relocating to the Bay, he had earlier undergone treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Gabe has been receiving support from Mac as he begins chemotherapy and battles its adverse effects.

Gabe overheard Mac crying when she believed she was alone in this week’s episodes, which caused the plot to change. Gabe sent Mac out on an errand and took the chance to swiftly depart, feeling like a burden to her.

In the episode that aired on Thursday, Mac revealed to Mali that Gabe had left a letter outlining his choice.

The text was “Dear Mac, I apologize. We both know that I am unable to grant you a future, but I wish I could. Additionally, I detest what it is doing to you.

Gabe’s choice meant that history was about to replicate itself for Mac because it was the second time he had abruptly dumped her.

When Mac’s intrusive father Rick first tried to bribe Gabe to break up with her, he did so.

“I can’t believe I’m back here again,” Mac said to Mali. I suppose I should have been smarter.

“I attempted to call him, but he isn’t picking up. In addition to not believing that he has the time, Gabe doesn’t want to spend it with me.

Later, Mac informed Mali that she would be taking a vacation from the Bay and wasn’t sure when she would return.

Is this really the conclusion of Mac and Gabe’s relationship given that there is obviously still unfinished business here?
