Coronation Street newcomer Scott is to lead to the shocking exit of Liz McDonald from the cobbles.

Barmaid Liz is set to leave Weatherfield during the summer after actress Beverley Callard quits after playing her for 30 years. So now it looks that Liz’s exit storyline is starting to flirt with the dangerous newcomer Scott.

He arrived this week and struck fear into Johnny Connor’s heart when he booked a long let in the Rovers – leaving Johnny to hatch a plan to flee to France. Actor Tom Roberts, however, has teased that Liz’s historically bad choices with men happen to Scott again.

He told Metro: “There’s an immediate spark with Liz, most definitely, and that’s going to be explored more and picked up again after this present situation is over.”

Liz has a history of attracting the wrong men – an understatement, really! And the fact she’s getting her eye on him is probably a doom omen about what kind of guy he really is!

“Speaking last year, Corrie boss Iain Macleod teased Liz’s” devastating “exit. He said:” Liz’s exit is yet a long way off, but the idea is that it’s the result of this story that I’m hinting at for Steve and Tracy and the big clans in the story of a war that we’re telling.

“It’s going to emerge from that because, at the moment – because again it’s just in the early stages the idea is that Liz is trying to do something heroic with her son that’s probably going slightly wrong in such a way that it’s going to corrupt her relationship with Steve and she’s going to have something to do but, At last, determine that Weatherfield is not the best place for her because she and Steve are upset.

“It’s still in the planning phase, but a lot of what Bev said in her interview of her going out with a bang, and we’re certainly not killing her, all that’s true.”

So in terms of detail, TBC, but it’s going to be a valiant attempt to save Steve from the nightmare he finds himself in.
