Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has given Hugh Grant a run for his money with his recreation of the famous Love Actually dance in honour of the NHS.

The 32-year-old actor, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, transformed into Hugh’s iconic character from the 2003 rom-com.

Becoming the Prime Minister, who coincidentally is also called David in the movie, the TV star donned a suit and began performing Hugh’s questionable dance moves to Jump (For My Love) by The Pointer Sisters.

Only this time, it didn’t take place at 10 Downing Street but rather David’s humble abode up north.

Jack shimmies around the house before the grand finale in the living room where he’s awkwardly caught by his ‘assistant’ played by his girlfriend, Hanni Treweek.

While all in good fun, the spoof was to thank the NHS for fighting on the coronavirus pandemic front lines.

The soap star explained in the caption: ‘Wanted to recreate this Hugh Grant dance from love actually, a film we covered on the @sofacinemaclub I’m dedicating this to the NHS who have shown that love actually is everywhere & Boris Johnson, have a speedy recovery and get back in No 10.’

He added: ‘Let’s try and recreate more movie scenes #MyMovieChallenge.’

Jack’s soap peers were in hysterics after watching his dance moves, including Emmerdale star Adam Thomas who commented: ‘Amazing’ with multiple cry laughing emojis.

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, seemed pretty impressed and wrote: ‘Brilliant’ with plenty of applause as did Jenny Falconer.

Emmerdale actress Sally Ann Matthews chimed in: ‘Actually amazing. I’m beyond proud to be friends with you both.’

So far, more than 10,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the UK, including 19 healthcare workers, while the number of cases has soared to over 84,000.
