ADAM WOODYATT, 51, is an actress considered to have portrayed the part of Ian Beale for 35 years in EastEnders. In the last few years, he's slimmed down. How did he go about it?

Adam Woodyatt has a huge fan base in Ian Beale's role in EastEnders, which he has been playing since the show started. The soap star has turned heads most recently with its notable weight loss. How did he get to form?

The soap star dropped pounds in the first place as he trained for the London Marathon.

Adam upped his workout schedule to prepare for the 26-mile grueling run he ran in 2017.

In one post posted on Instagram, as part of his training regime, he announced he completed a whopping 14.13 miles in just one day.

The actor finished the competition by raising money for Air Ambulance with his partner, Sam.

Adam picked up his running shoes once again last year to compete in the London Marathon in 2019. 

What diet plan did he follow?

As well as his intense training regime, Adam made modifications to his diet plan that helped him shape

Adam and Sam talked about the run-up to the race during an appearance on The One Show.

Sam provided us a glimpse into Adam's eating plan to help him stay healthy.

He said: ' He's on a no-carb diet and I'm reminding him, ' you have to start calorie-loading a couple of days before that. A marathon, Adam has decided to cut them out.

It would appear that the popular soap star has since managed to maintain the low carb diet.

The EastEnders actor has a love of food and will often post pictures on Instagram of his home-cooked creations.

Adam seems to tuck into meals full of meat and veggies with very few calories, from the photos posted online.

According to nutritionist Lisa Borg, the combination of a low-carb diet schedule and foods high in protein will help slimmers meet their weight loss goals.

The expert explained that cutting back on foods high in carbs for a short period can yield excellent results in weight loss.

She said to Express.co.uk: "Initially choosing a short-term high protein and low carb diet will help switch from an anabolic (gain) metabolism to catabolism (breaking down).

"I'd suggest you do this one to three weeks, depends entirely on how much you would lose." Then move slowly to introduce one meal of wholegrain carbs daily.
